Modesty Aside, After 30 Years I've Done Almost Everything in Marketing and I Enjoy Practically All of it.

Other Things I've Accomplished
Working with Artificial Intelligence
This is my current obsession. I know that AI is going to change how everything is going to be done in marketing and there is no way that I am going to be left behind.
I'm getting very proficient in using Chat GPT and other language learning models to come up with better content, I enjoy playing around with Midjourney and other image generators and I'm particularly interested in using text to voice technology as it simplifies the making of voiceovers so much.
In fact, I'm leveraging tools such as the above to create funny videos and post them on my Youtube channel here.
Direct Mail
I got my real start in marketing as an account manager with Vancouver Mailing Services where I landed the Canadian Cancer Society as a client and tripled the revenue of the company within 2 years.
My understanding of direct marketing lead me to a job as the Director of Marketing for Impress Digital and I still use direct mail to promote my B2B services.
It is an often overlooked but it can be an incredibly effective medium as the online space gets more and more crowded.
Affiliate Marketing
I was the affiliate manager for WorldWideLearn.com when it dominated the search rankings for almost all search terms related to higher education. I learned a ton about lead generation, affiliate marketing and SEO in this position.
I was also hired as the general manager of Slimming.com where my primary responsibilities included attracting and growing an affiliate base for the start-up.
Conversion Rate Optimization
This has been an obsession of mine since I realized how important website conversions really can be. I was contracted by InsidersLab.com as what would now be considered a Growth Manager. Within a couple of weeks, I implemented a content locker that improved the lead gen rate of the site from 3 to 4 leads per day to 40 to 60 per day - exact same traffic. This was long before content lockers were commonly used and could be bought "off the shelf".
CRO is also at the base of my current Welcome Widgets project but I've expanded it so the widgets can be used off-site as well.
