Video 5 – Video Marketing for the Small Business Website
You’ll have to excuse my enthusiasm for this form of marketing because I get pretty excited when I think about the potential. Video marketing is perhaps the greatest opportunity that the web offers the average small business website.
By producing short (less than 3 minute long) promotional videos and distributing them throughout the web using free video hosing sites like YouTube.com you can:
- Get quality links in to you site from powerful websites
- Reach unlimited people through an effective medium
- Reach these people in a very cost-effective manner
More About Video Marketing
Key points to keep in mind as you consider video marketing as another arrow in your marketing quiver:
- It isn’t hard to make a video
- It isn’t expensive to make a video
- Your videos don’t have to be perfect
- Video is the most effective form of presenting yourself, your products or your services apart from face to face selling
- You can distribute your videos to dozens of video hosting sites for free
If you can’t tell already, video marketing is my main form of marketing at the moment. Every time that I create a video I do a number of things. First, I add the video to this blog using titles and text that my keyword research has shown people are looking for. Then I submit each video to over 30 different video hosting sites – again using keywords with the idea that Google and the other search engines will pick them up in their organic listings. Third, I take the audio out of the recordings and submit that to Podcast hosting sites.
So, as you can see, I am getting a great deal of “bang for my buck” for each video that I create. I get at least 50 new in-bound links to my site plus hundreds of potential clients viewing my video and coming back to this site to learn more about it.
