Soaring With Your Strengths
Confidence is a funny beast, isn’t it? Sometimes we’re just brimming with confidence and feeling as if we can do no wrong. Other times, we get self-conscious and wonder if we’ll even get through the day.
Do you ever wonder why that is? I do and here is what I’ve found.
Most of us lack confidence when we’re doing:
a) something we’ve never done before
b) something we’re not good at doing
c) something we don’t like doing
In the old days, the self-help gurus would tell us that we need to focus on our weaknesses so we can improve them to the point that we can get by and get on with the things we like to do. These days, they’ve changed their tune.
Now they say, do what you love to do and get someone else to do the rest. Ideally, get someone that loves to do the things you don’t like to do.
Awesome advice.
Speaking for myself, my strengths are writing, coming up with new marketing and business ideas and understanding what other people want. That last point is leading me down the path of better understanding joint ventures which I’m finding very fascinating.
Understanding what you love to do is key to finding your passion and purpose in life. When I am being creative, writing and implementing marketing strategies I can talk about it for hours and time just flies by.
Knowing this makes it pretty easy to decide the direction of my next career choice doesn’t it?
