Managing Affiliate Marketing Programs

Do you have a product that you’re either already selling through an affiliate program or you’re thinking about selling through an affiliate program?

I’d be happy to talk to you about it. My most recent ‘job’ was Affiliate Manager for WorldWideLearn.com. Considering WWL is probably the biggest directory of online education in the world, I know a thing or two about affiliate marketing.

The biggest problem you may face in selling your product through affiliates is in believing that just by asking people to promote you or just be joining an affiliate network like Commission Junction, your job is done and your affiliates will start sending hoards of traffic your way.

Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way.

The truth is that you have to promote your program, you have to make it both interesting and lucrative AND you need to provide your affiliates with tools that make it easy for them to be successful. Otherwise, your affiliate program will just be another project that was a good idea at the time but wasn’t given the support it needed to thrive.
