I didn’t know where I was. I had been fast asleep when the phone rang. Instinctively, I had answered the ringing phone and it took me a second to figure out that yes, I was in my apartment. “Yeah I am. Why?”
Wow! Here is an experience for you. I spent the last nine days in a public hospital in Brazil – three of those nine days in ICU.
It was a beautiful sunny day in Santos, Brazil. With over a million people, Santos is not a small place by Canadian standards but I was renting a place less than a block from the beach. And after an extended stay in the absolute chaos that is Sao Paulo, this particular part of Santos felt like an oasis of tranquility.
