Business Card Printer Extrordinaire
I wrote a post yesterday about e-printing.co.uk and how they were using a very smart viral marketing tactic to promote their services on their customers’ business cards. Well, you may be surprised to know that at the end of the day, I didn’t actually get my business cards printed through them.
Here’s the story. I’m still new to the UK and the printing sizes here are different than what I’m used to in Canada. So, before designing my new cards I wanted to make sure I had the size right. I went to Google (like everyone does) and typed in “standard business card size UK”, I think. Something like that anyway.
Well, one of the first results was a forum where someone had asked the exact same question and this guy Neil had responded. It turns out that Neil has a business called Scuba Print and included a link to his site in his response. I also noticed that he had responded to like 1,000 questions on that particular forum. Talk about leveraging social media!!
So, I looked up the site and found out that I could get 500 postcards printed for less than what most places were charging for business cards. I thought I was missing something (like the ridiculous shipping charges some companies charge) so I called Neil and he assured me the pricing was correct and it included next day delivery! I designed my cards and placed my order by about 4pm yesterday.
The finished job arrived today at noon!! I’ve had a whack of stuff printed but I’ve never had a turnaround time like that. The work looks great too.
Needless to say I just sent another order through to Neil for my business cards and I plan on sending him more work in the future.
Two points to make here. Neil got a new customer (maybe for life) because he is using the Internet the right way – he is helping people solve their problems. Regardless of what business you have you could be doing the same thing.
Second point, if you’re ever looking for a new printing company be sure to check out www.scubaprint.com.
