Fall in Vancouver

I’d forgotten how amazing the fall colours are in Canada. Last week I was driving along Maple Street in Vancouver and the sun was hitting the leaves just perfectly. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera with me but I made a mental note to come back and get some pics to show to my foreign friends and visitors.

I’m originally from Ontario and we have awesome autumns (say that ten times fast!) back there but I don’t remember seeing colours like this in Vancouver in the eight years I had lived here previously.

In any event, I made it back to Maple St. today and though not quite as spectacular, it was still quite pretty.

Using Publicity and Buzz

I recently wrote a post about Dean Hunt and his unique approach to generating buzz and traffic using web 2.0 and social media. My review was pretty flattering but sincere. And to prove it I’m actually in the middle of testing two of the ideas contained in one of his reports.

Brazil or Edmonton

Normally, I can’t stand commercials – especially from large, cold institutions. However, this one came on during Two and a Half Men and I had to laugh.

Could they have hit the nail on the head any harder? For those of you not familiar with either place. Brazil is paradise and Edmonton is… the opposite.

Gary Vaynerchuck Rocks

Gary has an Internet show called Wine Library TV. To say that it is successful would be a massive understatement. Below he gives a keynote speech in which he gets pretty worked up about the two Ps of starting your own business. The playing time is about 15 minutes and be warned, it does contain some strong language. However, it is well worth it to block out some time and give it a go.
